'' Jake Himes Cup, $5,000.00, and pro-codriver kit all up for grabs at Ojibwe Forests Rally | Max-Attack.com

MaxAttack! raised the level of two wheel drive rally racing in the United States for the past few years. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsor during those years, Danza del Sol Winery in Temecula Valley, California, the Rallysports Group of America (RSGA) paid out a cash purse of $15,000 USD per year to be divided amongst the fastest teams competing in the MaxAttack! events.

From Eric Burmeister:

We had the best from the west to come out in Idaho and give us a real MaxAttack! 2wd show! Lauchlin O'Sullivan and Karen Wagner schooled the entire field on their way to first MaxAttack! and first overall in the Dodge Neon SRT-4. Josh and Jeremy Wimpey went west and got second in their VW GTI, and Odi and Amy Bakchis got third with their FWD DSM.

In the east, we had the talented Chris Duplessis and Catherine Woods take the MaxAttack! win at NEFR in the trusty VW GTI, with Wyatt Knox and Carrie Wilburn taking second in the Team O'neil Mazdaspeed3, and Chad Eixenberger and Jay Luikart taking third in another GTI.

Lots of odd things happen when you put some money on the line and get the best competition in the country out to race against each other. In Idaho, Mark Utecht and Rob Bohn spun themselves out of the money on a couple stages at Idaho, but pedaled the Mustang to many overall stage wins. Bill Holmes and Sean Gallagher nearly endoed the F150 on a very aggressive run at the spectator jump, but pulled out and took home MaxAttack! cash. And Cody Crane and Pat Darrow took an ailing car to a MaxMoney finish by driving the wheels off their Honda CRX.

In Maine, a great battle of stalwart rally machinery of yesteryear proved competitive against much of the newer tech, with Luke Sorensen and Geoff Clark in their Saab 99 facing off with the Datsun 260Z of Greg Healy and Brian Johnson. Dan Cook and Bill Rhodes were right in the mix too until a late "stuff" in their Datsun 510.

So now we go to Ojibwe Forests Rally. The stakes are higher. More points on the line for this shootout of east versus west. And we are on the home turf of the guys in the middle.

Once again, a $5,000.00 purse will be split up among the top 5 MaxAttack! teams who bring it back in one piece in Minnesota.

And a new MaxAttack! Champion will be crowned and will take home the prestigious Jake Himes Cup and will be able to display this fine piece of craftsmanship that honors our founder and loved one, Jake.
